    Restoring files

    I just installed Win 7 Home Premium from the Ultimate RC. In ultimate my computer name was "eddie". Now with home premium I named it "my last name". When I restore my files, it is restoring the user account "eddie" to the new system. After the restore is finished, how do I use my restored settings? Do I move them to the "my last name" user account folder? I would prefer to use the new name, or if I have to I can reinstall and rename the new setup "eddie".

    Thanks!!

    Hello Eddie;

    You can use the "Advanced Options" in step 5 of this tutorial to tell the Easy Transfer Wizard what user account you want to put the old user account:

    Windows Easy Transfer - Transfer To & From Computers

    Or yes, you can copy the files from one user account to another:

    Directory Username Problem

    Cheers!

    I didn't back up with FAST. I just did a regular backup, and am doing a regular restore. So that option is out. I'll try the others.
