Drive (HP_Recovery (D:)) is not letting me copy/paste

After upgrading to Win7, one of my Drive (HP_Recovery (D:)) is not letting me copy/paste back and forth. It get freeze when I do a copy/paste and I have to reboot the system.

This partitation came with my HP Pavilion TX1320 laptop, but I recently copied few files to this drive as backup. How do I change the access privilage to make it work just like other partitation drive on my computer. Thanks in advance.

The HP recovery drive is not there for your use. It contains the information needed to bring your computer back to factory specs if necessary in case of a major problem.

I am assuming, from what I understand, that this partition was on your hard drive the day you bought the computer home and not created by you during installation of Windows 7 or at some other time. The drive size is very small compared to your total hard drive size. Am I correct?

If this is corrrect you may have disabled one of the features that came with your computer, which could be a problem if you ever have to reinstall or make repairs and do not have a DVD of the system.

You are correct, but after install Win7, it stop letting me copy/paste.
I don't need this drive anymore, so can i format it and take full ownership just like other drives. I did a clan install, so it won't let me do a recovery anyways, that's my understanding.

If you are sure that you no longer need or want that drive, you can treat it just like any other drive.

Be sure to let us know if you have any further questions or problems

If I were you, though, I would make a copy of the hard drive and put it in a safe place before trying anything.
