Failure when attempting to copy boot files

To avoid installation of 100mb System Reserved partition, pre-partition your HD before Win7 install.

To remove or reimage without 100mb partition, mark Win7 partition active, boot Win7 DVD Repair console to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots, to write the MBR to Win7.

I got the same error message but I figured it out:
I wasnt logged in as administrator.
So I then ran command prompt from the start menu by right clicking it and choosing 'run as administrator'.
After that it worked (BCDBOOT c:\windows /s c:).

Morning All
I keep getting Failure when attempting to copy boot files when running the following command after imaging a new laptop:

D:\Windows\System32\bcdboot d:\Windows

How do i get this sorted out i have created a custom windows 7 image which will be deployed on all new laptops, but i need this to work oh and the reason its D:\Windows is that for some reason imagex allocates the sysyem partition on the hard drive as C: and the Windows partition as D:

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've had the same issue with using imageX to make a 64 bit version of Windows 7 Enterprise bootable on an Asus 120 Slate

Same problem - same error message.

The only workaround I've found (so far) was copying the System 32 folder from an x86 (32bit) install to the drive of the target 64 bit install and running BCDBOOT from there. When copying - Not overwritting the 64 bits System32 but saving the copied / transferred 32-bit System 32 in a seperate folder on the 64 bits c:\ drive. (eg - 'x86_system32).

Navigated to the copied 32 bit system 32 folder and used the BCDBOOT command to make the new 64 bit system bootable.

So far has worked no problem.

Has anyone used any other method or found further clues around this bcdboot 64 bit OS problem.

Would be good to hear about.
