Double installation of Win7 ?

Please explain why some people recommend double installation of Win7 ? Install once on bootup but not enter key and not activate, then upgrade from within windows 7 after it is installed but this time enter key and manually activate? Tks

Hello,

That method was used to do a clean install of Vista using an upgrade version. Read this for more info.

It is no longer necessary to do this with Windows 7. Check out the link, I believe your question will be answered.

I was planning to do a custom install by deleting all partitions , then make 2 more partitions and install win 7 Pro in the first partition . Can I still do this via method 2 of link above?
