XP installed first then Windows 7

Hi all!!

I have just come out of the xp wood work. I currently have a TOSHIBIA Tecra S1 Laptop which i only use as my second computer to surf the net. I thought i would just upgrade from XP to Windows 7 before i reverted my main computer... What a disaster.I can't find new drivers to work with Windows 7 as the Tecra S1 is almost 5 years old.

When i installed windows 7 i just used the upgrade option to install windows 7 which means i still should have the original XP still located on the Harddrive... How do i recover or revert back to xp ?


I have read how to install dual boot but that is before you install windows 7.??? i currently have windows 7 installed already

thank you so much the windows XP is restored, just moving all the files from windows old to the windows folder... I think i will upgrade windows 7 when i purchase a new machine or Laptop as it requires new hardware that is compatible with windows 7

Did the Win7 installer not have the drivers for your hardware? It is normally driver-complete.

Did you check the manufacturer's Support Downloads webpage for your exact model computer? Were there any Vista drivers, as these work.

We have a drivers forum where others could help you find the drivers.

That's pretty much right!! When i loaded up Windows 7 most features on the Laptop were non-operational i searched the Manufactures website (Toshiba) but was unable to locate any Vista drivers for this machine.

Wifi not operational
Audio not operational
DVD Burner not operational

The exact laptop details are as following
Model PT831-A-009Y2
Toshiba Tecra S1
Pentium m 1.4 GIG
1.25 ram

Its possible that i am not doing a correct search on the drivers. How do i look up for updated drivers by the model of the laptop or check the exsiting driver version on XP?
