    Installation Problem

I currently have one hard drive with windows vista, one hard drive with windows xp. Right now, I want to delete both of the hard drives and reinstall vista.

Right now, vista cannot boot, even with the Windows Vista CD repair utility

    My xp works fine though

Help is appreciated and thanks for reading

Do you want to start up Vista or delete both drives and reinstall Vista?

A good free tool to use to manage disks which will delete, partition, resize, format, convert, etc. is Partition Wizard bootable CD.

If you need to startup Vista first, use PW CD or XP Disk Mgmt. to mark it active, then boot into Vista DVD Repair console to run Startup Repair repeatedly until it starts. You will lose you ability to boot XP then until it is added back to the dual boot menu with EasyBCD 2.0.

You can use PW CD or booted Vista DVD's Custom>Drive Tools to delete, repartition and format either or both drives.

You might want to use PW CD to format the other drive Logical if you want to use it for Data, as this avoids possible problems later.
