    Can't install windows 7 ultimate.

Hello! I'm trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on my computer. Unfortunately, this just isn't happening. I put the disk in my computer and select Boot from Disk in my BIOS menu. To put it short, it takes me roughly half an hour to get to the Destination Drive screen. I chose to install it to my empty, formatted 80gb hdd. It's formatted to NTFS. I click "Next" and it brings me to the installation screen. This is where i get stuck. It says Copying Windows Files (0%).... And it Doesn't pass 0%. I don't get any error messages or anything. and i am able to cancel it so my computer doesn't freeze. So, i ran the installation on a friends computer to see if i got a dodgy disk. I booted from the disk, it prepared for install, only it took about 1 minute to get to the Destination Drive screen. Any i was only using a crappy 40gb hdd to test it, and the Copying Windows files moved from (0%) to (1%) in about 1 minute. Then it started to go faster. Unfortunately the hdd is IDE and mine is Sata. It's really frustrating and i just want windows 7! Please help

    Welcome stevo669,

Do you have more than one monitor connected ? any un-needed USB devices during the install process? Please check out our Questions for install.

Questions to use for help with Installation Issues

Some users have had 20 to 90 minutes for copying files, just depends on the computer.

We will all try to help you with this.
