Windows 7: windows 7 + ms virtual pc

Im not sure if anyone else has had this problem, I installed Windows 7 onto the virtual machine but the network card will not start. I might try vm ware is it friendly to Windows 7? or is there a fix for ms virtual pc

I tried Win 7 on Virtual PC 2007, if that's what your talking about. The only things that didn't work were my CD/DVD drive and my audio was totally gone.

If everything else works using that app, then try resetting your modem. I was able to make a connection and get on the net with no problem.

hmm ill reboot and try again, but in the device manager its saying it has a problem with the emulated network card apart from the sound which i dont really care about at this stage.

Which card did you emulate?

I have used and am using VirtualBox OOB on Windows 7, and I beta tested VMWare 6.5 on Windows 7 as well. Both work.

Thanks everyone, i found the culprit!!!! it was actually my computers network card failing it finally gave up the ghost, ive since put a new card into her and its all working....another layer 2 problem :S

OMG - I should *so* have thought about that.

I was testing FC 2 back in the day on WIn XP, and assigned my second NIC to be used by the VM - all of a sudden a reinstall of FC and the NIC was not detected - it took me a bit of some serious troubleshooting to figure out that it was the NIC.

My apologies for not remembering my own experiences and mentioning them here....
