    Upgrade Build 7057 32 Bit to 64 Bit ?

Is it possible to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit, I reckon the answer is no, due to the architecture change ?

Also if I was to change from 32 bit to 64 bit, what - In laymans terms - would I notice different?

All my hardware is fine, and I have 4gb RAM.

    1. Is it Possible
    2. Whats the Main Difference I will see.

    Hello UKForce,

Sorry, but you can only do a clean install when going from 32-bit to 64-bit, or the other way around.

The main thing is to make sure that you have 64-bit drivers available for all of your devices, and that your 32-bit programs will support and run in 64-bit Vista. Most do, but some utility or system type programs may not.

This link below can help explain the main differences between a 32-bit and 64-bit OS though.

    Hope this helps,

Did you say that i can't change from windows 7 64 bit to 32 bit without doing a clean install? Because I upgraded from vista to 7 64 bit and some programs I use (frostwire, firefox, google chrome) will not run they just say that they cannot connect to a server and i thought that if i redid the install in 32 bit they may begin to work again or i could atleast download the flash plugin to make them work.
If you could help i would greatly appreciate it and if you need anymore information about my system that might help ill gladly give it to you

Hello A3R0 760, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Yes, you can't change from windows 7 64 bit to 32 bit without doing a clean install.

If Vista was a 64-bit Vista, then you could upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit.

For your other problem, that would need to be posted as a new thread since it is not the same subject as what is in this thread.
