oh boy i need help with XP and Windows 7 dual boot

I stayed up all night trying to finalize a dual boot, was frustrated part of the time and also had a lot of fun..I think I almost had it. I dunno, I think I messed something up during the easy bcd steps.

I installed 7 first and then xp.

After using easy BCD, upon my first restart, I could see both OS fine from the boot manager. Using 7 or xp alone had no issues, however the first time I tried to load XP from the boot mgr everything went to hell. I think I saw some ntdl messages, BOOTMGR is missing or invalid, again I wish I wrote them down, but I was pulling an all nighter.

Anyways current situation is I was able to use win 7 disk to restore that boot functionality, however mentions of XP aren't really around anymore. I snipped a few things not quite knowing what would help the most.

Desperately trying to get this figured out..love win 7, but I have a cad program that HAS to run on XP (MDAC issue). Please help!

PS Drive C is win7 and D is my other partition that actually has XP on it. It first started as Z...long story.

    Thank you.

It seems you have the enterprise version of Windows 7. Have you considered using XP-Mode? If you need help, let us know, and we will show you how to create that virtual machine.

Where did you download your Win 7 software?

You seem to have the XP partition set to active. If the original install was Win 7 on C:, I would make that partition active and reboot.

If it still won't boot, use the Win7 install or repair DVD to run a startup repair from the Repair options.

Setup the boot from Win 7 since you do not currently have an entry for XP.

You might check first and allow viewing of hidden system files in the folder options and see if bootmgr is in C:\

Pup -Download and install to Win7 EasyBCD 2.0 beta after doing the quick registration to use beta.

If XP shows in listings, Remove it on Add/Remove tab and then add it back by name, accept boot files if offered, then Add OS and Save listing.

If this fails, post back a screenshot of EasyBCD listings.
