Error code 0x0000007B on win xp install

I have a new Toshiba laptop with Windows 7. I have attemepted to install XP on it as dual boot, and also tried by wiping the hard drive and just going with XP.

Both ways XP starts loading the files, but then stops and says:
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your comuter. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

check for viruses on your computer. Revmove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive cotrollers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK/F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Technical information:
Stop: 0X0000007B ( 0xf78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"

Help!!

Thanks,

Tobi

I would see blue screens when the SATA drive was set to AHCI in the bios. Can you check the bios and see how your drives are set up? Should have choice of IDE, AHCI, or possibly RAID choices.
