    Upgrading trials

Having succesfully upgraded 7000 up to 7057 without to much trouble i upgraded today to 7068.

Took over 2 hours (other upgrades took 30 mins).
After final reboot display driver conked out, rebooted in 640x480 where the first setup dialog continued.

Reinstalled the display driver, this came immediately up with the previous settings. No reboot necessary.

Background was black, whichever theme i chose the background reset to solid colours. After messing about a bit i suddenly found 3 extra items in the dropdownlist where you choose between backgrounds. All 3 where called: DesktopBackground. Clicking on one of these restored my background.

My antivirus (bitdefender) was lost in there somewhere, firewall wouldn't come up. Reinstalled bitdefender firewall works again.

Better do clean install next time i guess. Weird the other builds worked fine.

Upgrades to Widows 7 generally take ages but really you shouldn't be doing any upgrade with any kind of antivirus installed, you should always uninstall it first as they have a habit of stopping certain low level system changes.

I have done a couple of 7068 upgrades now with no problems what so ever. nice build.

I guess I've just been lucky... 7000 -> 7022 -> 7048 -> 7057 -> 7068. All upgrades and all have gone well. On my desktop machine, I even did a "retrograde" from 7057 back to 7048 as 7057 would not see Windows XP machines on my network. I think I'll quit pressing my luck and wait for RC!

Always disabled antivirus before upgrading, uninstall never was necessary sofar. Only 7068 got the hickups.

But it is a nice build

7068 refused to upgrade on 7057, says: compatibility issues. I am too lazy to force it, since another 70xx build seems to be on horizon.
