    Programs not installed :S

well i feel like a huge idiot because i kinda saw it coming, but i downloaded windows 7 proffesional from my university (100% legally) and was required to do a clean install as the version of vista i have on my hp laptop will not allow an upgrade. anyways, i backed up all my files, ran the iso file of the windows 7 on a virtual hardrive (Daemon Tools Lite) and had it installed correctly.

    My problem begins here.

None of my program are installed, and prior to my father fixing my internet problem, i couldnt even access that without the blue screen of death. even the program for my fingerprint scanner isnt installed.

what i would like to know is how can i reinstall these programs :S. because for several of the programs i dont even have an installer on them, like my digital persona. am i stuck reverting back to vista? or will i have to get all new programs?

If you want your programs to carry over from Vista, you have to do the in-place Upgrade. What was the problem with doing this? Did you run the Upgrade Advisor to check for possible problems before trying in-place Upgrade?

Have you checked the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer to see if some of the programs you need are there for Download?

If not, did you make the Recovery Disks for restoring your Vista OS to factory condition? Try running Recovery using the key given on first bootup screen for recovery, or the key combination in your manual to trigger Recovery. This is often disabled by Win7 installation, however if you still have the Recovery partition we might be able to help you find an ISO file in it to mount to restore Vista.

I would not change drivers given by the Win7 installer unless there is a performance problem with the device.

You only need to provide the drivers which are currently missing in the Device Manager.
