Windows 7: please help me, I want to go back to vista now :(

Boot the Vista DVD, select Custom install, select C partition where Win7 is now installed, use Drive Tools (advanced) to format first, then install Vista there. It will update the MBR in XP to make a dual boot.

If you want to install Vista to the empty H partition, it will configure a multi-boot with XP and Win7.

In either case you should not lose the ability to boot XP as it will retain the MBR. If an OS is missing from the boot menu, we can help you add it using EasyBCD 2.0

Win7 should definitely find and include the XP install if re-installed in the future and retain the Dual boot. I cannot speak for all Linux or other alternative but a long as they were developed after XP they should also cause no problems on this issue

Is there a way to go back to Vista?
I am going nuts. I can't get my Blackberry to sync and I've tried a number of versions of the Blackbery software and tried compatibility. Outlook is making sounds, even though I've turned the sounds off in the options panels. I am getting false popups telling me that one of my external drives...

How many are going back to Vista or XP?
While boot up and shutdown times seem to be about the same I have noticed desktop operations to be a little faster in Windows 7 v/s Vista or XP. That's about the extent of my satisfaction so far. Just about everything else has been an exercise in frustration for me. This is really starting to piss...

Im going back to Vista...
Heres why, on the 29th August I would have been running Vista on this laptop for exactly a year. I have two partitions, one for my OS and one for everything else. At the minute my Windows 7 partition has a red bar underneath it, meaning im running out of space. I never got this with Vista even with...

Back to Vista!
Back to Vista! Id anticipated Windows 7 RC with relish, looking forward to improved speed, slick interface, new features. I now read all the many accolades in this and other forums with little cheer. All went well with the upgrade to my laptop (HP DV6680, Core Duo T7250, 4GB), everything...
