    New Install

I am about to do a clean install of W7Pro. In using Windows Easy Transfer, is there any way to tell how much space I need on a thumb drive to back up my fies and settings from my old hard drive. I need to make sure my thumb drive is large enough. Or is there a better way to do this. There is ony one computer involved.
    Thaks,
    Bill

You will use much less space if you drag the folders you need to save to the external.

if there is enough space, you can drag your active User file to get everything. Otherwise, drag Documents, Pictures, Videos, etc - any folder you have files you want to save.

Cull out the unwanted files first, or only drag the files you want.

Then after install, open each folder, select all files, and drag the group to the corresponding folder on the Explorer tree to the left of each file window. Hold the left click until the tree fully unfolds, then release once your sure you're dropping in the correct file.
