Sorry to bump this again. But I have the same problem with a Dell Inspiron laptop and I don't have Windows 7 install DVD, is there any way I can fix it?

My approach for double booting with a Windows 7/8 installation is different.

Make an image of the system partition (which contains the bootmgr) before you make the double boot installation.

Then if you want to get rid of the double booted OS, restore that image and reformat the partition that contains the double booted OS.

That whole operation takes only a couple of minutes and is one of the advantages of having a system partition.
