    Just as a suggestion, if you obtain your Windows 7 from a legit source, you won't care what the build number is.

    That's somewhat scary if you have to ask why I'd post that, especially if you are a frequent reader of Windows-related forums. Maybe I missed something, but are you being serious? You don't see the "issues" in asking about the build number?

    The build number doesn't change as long as you are using a legit product, except for one reason....you have SP1 Beta installed. If not, and you have to ask or care what your build number is...99.99% of the time, that means you are using a pirated/cracked copy and want to check if you are using final code. Discussions of the sort are what can lead a forum to land in hot water, or even be shut down. If you buy/obtain your Windows 7 code from legit sources, you have no care what the build number is.
