Windows 7 - Change Product Key and Rechange Back

    Hello,

Currently I have Win 7 Premium installed and validated (#Key1). However,
I have purchase another license (#Key2) for my upcoming PC (which may take a while).

Can I change my current installed Win7 key to #Key2 and see whether it is genuine, then change back to #Key1 (on the same machine) without being blacklisted or anything?

The concern is since it take a while for 2nd PC, better to have a piece of mind that my second purchase is genuine as well. :)

    Thanks

You should be able to call MS and talk to a CSR and get the key checked out and verified.

Where did you get the 2nd key anyways? If you got it from a reputable source it should be ok if not you can should be able to get it sorted out quick enough

Thanks. I will call it out.

I bought it in my country (Malaysia) in store ... I'm maybe paranoid, but good to know ...

Anyway, what is volume key? Is there any different from retail key? <-- sorry this may be a noob question here ...

Volume License key is used to activate Enteprise version licenses bought in bulk by schools, libraries, etc.

Gregg has given you correct information about the volume key. In any event, I hope that it all works out for you.

Thanks guys. The second key is actually my friend's (full retail, supposedly). Here, piracy is common ... so I understand his concern ...

Just that he bought the Win 7 much earlier than his upcoming new PC. So asked me whether i can test it out on my machine with the swapping option of win7. So technically should be OK ... but just want confirmation before I do it ... :)

    Thanks guys for the help!
