Win 7 Upgrade 7100 to 7600 Hello, i have found it is possible to upgrade Windows 7 RC 7100 to Final version 7600 only changing Cversion file Located at the Dvd.
So i decied to try; since i have 2 partitions of windows 7 Rc 7100, i did it on the 40gb HDD first, everything worked just fine, the upgrade was successful.
but when i tried to update my 1tb HDD wich have 2 partitions, one for data and the other one for windows + instalations, my screen just turns black with an intermittent " - " at the left upper corner, this occurs at the last stage of the upgrade where files are transfered.
i know this wouldn`t happen with a clean instalation of windows, but i really don`t want to install all over again, i have made a lot of changes to the system + installations that i don`t want to lose and i don`t have enough space to backup all the data.
i would like to know if you could help me out with this problem, i have been thinking its maybe a problem with some driver, because i had the same issue months ago when i tried to update my Geforce Drivers, The screen turns black with the white dot at the corner, so i went back to my old driver. | My System Specs |

Thanks for fast response.
i didn`t disconnect the 40Gb HDD to upgrade the 1tb HDD because i didn`t need to disconnect the 1tb to upgrade the 40gb; DocBrown do u recommend me to disconnect the other HDD?
i checked the files gregrocker told me to, but i can`t fully understand the meaning of those files, i think the problem is some missing driver, but i don`t know wich one is it.
so maybe you could check those files:
in the meantime i`ll try to delete 3d drivers and upgrade in safe mode as zigzag3143 told me to. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate CPU AMD Phenom x4 9950 Motherboard MSI K9a2 Cf Memory Kingston HyperX 8500 x2 Graphics Card Nvidia XFX 9600Gt Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays Samsung T260HD Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Keyboard Microsoft Sidewinder X6 PSU Corsair TX850 Case Asus Vento A6 Cooling Air Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 |

I disconnected the 40 Gb HDD wich already have Windows 7 7600 and ran Registrybooster 2010 to clean up the system.
This time i had some progress, the last stage of intslation reached 50% without any black screen, this time the problem was the instalation froze.
this time i`ll try to ran Tuneup utility before upgrade.
if you have any other ideas, just let me know, thanks. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate CPU AMD Phenom x4 9950 Motherboard MSI K9a2 Cf Memory Kingston HyperX 8500 x2 Graphics Card Nvidia XFX 9600Gt Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays Samsung T260HD Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Keyboard Microsoft Sidewinder X6 PSU Corsair TX850 Case Asus Vento A6 Cooling Air Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 |

The only clean up utilities I would run is CCleaner (Run Cleaner and Registry tab) and Auslogics Defraggers - both state of the art apps which are used by many or most pro's.
If you are unable to in-place Upgrade, then wipe your HD using DBAN and format using Windows 7 DVD before installing. Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version | My System Specs | | |
