    Installing Second HDD

I want a second HDD in my computer with XP. This is what I propose and where I am. Please advise if this will not work.

I have installed Win 7, and all desired software in my new Emachines 320 G HDD with 4 G RAM. I have the old HDD from the old computer. 160 G. I would like to clean install XP on the second (old) HDD. First I plan to delete all data on the HDD and reformat. Install the HDD, go to BIOS and boot second HDD. The only XP disk I could get (lost mine in a move) is an upgrade from 98 which I have. Load 98. Load the upgrade XP over that and have an XP system that I can boot from BIOS. Then load my old programs that will not run in 7.

    Will this work?

You do not need to install 98, just insert the CD when asked.

I would suggest you disconnect the Win 7 HDD until you finish installing XP, then reattach it as primary drive and use the latest EasyBCD Beta (join forum to obtain)to set up the dual boot.

You can make a slipstream version of XP to SP3 to save you some time.
