IRQL not less or equal please help me

    hi

Since 4 days i got a problem with my windows crashing. I get bluescreen which says IRQL_not less or euqal. It also says something about saving dumped memory in the blue screen, thats all i could figure out of it.

It just startet after I set up windows 4 days ago because of some errors and a stupid trojan which was on my pc. Formated and deleted partitions, set up new, installed all drivers, programms etc. At first everthing was fine all was working perfectly. Then suddenly 1 day later this error apeared. Well it actually seemed to have apeared after i tried to install atitools which wouldnt work. I deinstalled it, no change. Then i set up windows 7 new, i formated and deleted the old partitions. Still no change, as soon as i run either firefox or a 3D game the bluescreen sometimes apears. Set it up new again, installed all drivers everything etc. still no change.

Since i read that IRQL bluescreen is often related to drivers i installed all new that could be related. Direct x, graphics, mainboard, checked windows updates to really have the NEWEST... still i get this bluescreen.

    To my system:

    Windows 7 home premium 64x
    Geforce 8600 GT
    6GB ddr2
mainboard is: Gigabyte MA790GP-DS4H(uses Realtek drivers)

Anyone got some ideas or solutions? thanks for replies.

If it's not a memory leak, (try running memtest from BIOS), It may be a conflict with the drivers you installed and the drivers windows 7 installed. Check your system information for problem devices and device manager for duplicates of the same device. I think there's a good chance you will find something there

Blue screens can be tricky, but they usually are driver related, assuming the hardware is ok. One of the easiest things to do is to remove any non critical hardware. For example remove your video card if you have onboard graphics as well, remove any PCI cards. Grab a generic PS2 mouse/keyboard. Try it out in this basic configuration, and if it' s OK add one of your peripherals at a time until it crashes again. ( I am guessing it's your vid card driver and/or DirectX, etc) Remember, newest drivers aren't always the best. Especially for some games. For example, I used to have issues with my old vid card when playing WoW, and on WoWs site it was a known issue and they recommended going back to a certain version of driver. I did and that solved it. Good luck!

okay small update: Did a complete memory test, took about 2 hours. For nothing it said everthing is fine. But still get blue screen.

Also I reseted my Bios, still bluescreen. Next I searched through my bios also. However I use a USB-Mouse for my PC. And I saw the entry enable usb mouse was disabled. So i enabled it hoping it would help. Still it crashes.

Also i got a bit different error this time: irql gt zero at system service instead of irql not less or equal.

Well now I unpluged everything once. And iŽll let my external storage device unpluged. As this is the only old hardware, and it does not run smoothly anymore and i dont know how long my external storage will last. Hopping this may fix it. Hardware should be totally okay. i have 4 ddr ram cards, but theyre all the same clock(800mhz). So hardware is definitely okay.

Also i could play oblivion for a bit with no crashes. Either its warcraft only which crashes, or its the external storage.

Btw. device manager says all okay. Problem sollution from windows also cant find any hints. Dont have any video cards or stuff like that so far, however ill leave the external devices and everything else i dont need and see if it crashes again. If it does im also gonna post the log file from it, maybe u guys can get some infos out of it.

ok following. Doesnt seem to be any of my devices like mouse, external storage etc. i still get blue screen.

Again it was was irql gt zero at system service. Again while running warcraft.

Also i went through my device manager again. I couldnt find any double drivers installed, except for usb-controller, somehow i have masses of that but im no expert on usb so i dont know if thats normal or not.

I have no idea what i should try next...

I have found the report file from windows eventvwr. here it is:

First I would try deleting any mods you have for WoW, even old ones that aren' loading. ANd delete your WTF folder. ALso go to forums.worldofwarcraft.com and look in the technical support forum, and post something htere with your video card model number. Like I said, I had a known issue with my old card with WoW where I had to use a driver that was 4 or 5 revs back.

It is not usually good form to double post on the same topic as it makes us have to work to find it. You will get help usually faster than you even know. Your result posted in the other thread
