Here I downloaded the trial version of UltraISO and simply doubleclick on the iso file itself to see it expanded in the viewer there. Winrar and other iso editors will do the same. For right clicking on individual files you first have to extract them out with an editor like Isobuster for a look in a folder you set up for it.

but I think you extract the iso not just copy the iso to a storage device :P.

Thanks one and all for the suggestions. I'm having trouble extracting the ISO to the storage area.

Will have to play around with different applications.

Once downloaded here I can generally expand, copy, move any files around. It all depends on what you mean by storage area external, internal, unpacking to an external? For expanding the files out you may want to expand in a local folder first and then copy them to the external or simply mount the iso on an external drive/device which should then allow browsing like you would a dvd.

I meant to the folder I had chosen on my C drive to put it in. Anyway, solved by using an application I'd forgotten I had - 7-Zip. It allowed me to extract all the contents and then I could edit whatever I wanted in Notepad, and, just simply click Setup.exe to start the installation. It appeared that the installation would have proceeded normally at that point as I got the Windows 7 installation module up OK.
I didn't proceed however as I'm experimenting using a torrent download of the supposed RC...which I don't trust. I'm waiting for Technet Plus to post RC.

When going to delete the Windows.old folder once the x86 was on I found something a little curious that prevented the Windows.old and some of the sub folders from being deleted despite all attempts to take ownership and uncheck the read only boxes on each!

The two items seen there seem to be in Russian or another close alphabet in the supposedly untampered with En-US 7100 RC? So far no malware has been detected while those two items were placed there by the RC installer! when first moving things into it.

Two attempts at the upgrade failed for me. tried the edit cversion & install from usb flash drive. I think it was a bug in my Beta 7000 x64 with the LogiTech QuickCam that reported a problem on the upgrade. So I did they Easy Windows Transfer to an external 80gb HD. Then did a new install & transfered the old settings, etc. Worked OK!

Once the RC is out in May I have an entire drive for 7 ready to go!

In fact I have to shrink the XP primary on one drive down even more now since the second one there setup for the 7000 is getting cramped with files! Now some video recording as well. oh boy partition overflow!
