    Clone Windows 7

I cloned my copy of Windows 7 today onto a backup hard drive using Acronis True Image Home 2010 in case of any future problems. It all went okay untill I ran the backup hard drive. and there was a message on the bottom right hand corner telling me that it could be an illegal copy. The origional hard drive is okay, is there another method to avoid this problem.

    Thanks.

it might simply be that as far as windows is concerned you changed hardware. meaning the hard drive. when you make a backup like this you should never run it to check it. the only time you should touch it is either to replace it with a more current backup or to copy it back to the main hard drive if you have problems with the running os that you cannot fix.

I would think that you would want to make an image, then restore that image to a new hard drive as opposed to cloning the drive.

    Obviously there is!
There is a great tutorial about how to Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup . Follow it and have a backup.

If there is any problem later about your windows, just get a System Image Recovery.

    Hope it is helpful.
