    Should I ....


    Should I reinstall my windows 7 on a partition. Have have read that it increase performance. If i do would i be able to keep programs and personal info like pics and vids on the the larger partition.

    Welcome!

    Do you mean install Windows to one partition, and install your programs and data to a separate one?

    That will not improve performance any. However, it will make backing up easy in the event you need to reinstall Windows.

    You can do that but theother thing you would have to watch for is if the HDD dies all the info from the backup is gone as well.

    It would make more sense to have a second hard drive ( set up as slave) for multimedia, documents, and anything else you think is important, and reinstall Windows onto your current drive (as master).
