    Windows Explorer

    Please help!

As a diehard XP user, I miss a few things that I can't find in win7 (63bit ver). One option is that When I go into windows explore and view files in my cookies folder or temp folder I like to delete several items. In XP I could but detete, copy paste icons up top on the screen. Can this be done in win 7? I have tried for months to find these tools in the folder options but sadly to say I can't. Is it posible?

The only slight change is the use of the 'Organize' button which has copy, paste, delete, rename & more. Or you could just right-click.

Appart from that there's no way to re-gain the icons for the menu bar (at least, not that I know of).

Are you talking about the "menu bar" with file, edit, view, tools, help? If so just go to "organize" and down to "layout" and check "menu bar" that should do it. Hope this is what you are talking about.

Nice thinking but no. I remember (vaguely) that XP had icons set into the menu for delete (big red X) and others. Having the menu bar showing is not too different from using the organize button (at least in this case).

+ rep (when it lets me LOL) Not a bad idea though :)

I think the UI has just changed. The funtionallity is still there. I have XP on a small partition....I just have a hard time finding a reason to boot to it.

XP Style Toolbar buttons for Windows Explorer

Classic Shell is the program you want if you want to restore the Copy, Paste, Delete etc icons to the Windows Explorer toolbar.

Upon install you have the option to restore the XP style start menu and the Classic Folders.
I chose the classic folders only and it works fine in Win 7 64-bit.

The link to the program is on Brink's list of "Free Great Programs for Windows 7"
