Clean (Custom) Install Windows 7 on HP dv3 2111TX

Usually I help my friends to make a clean install of Windows 7 on their machines as they have the Drivers CD.

But, how about HP laptops (with Vista Home Premium)?
HP doen't give any CDs, so how to recover the drivers?

I've a theory, make a Recovery Disk from Vista, then make clean install of Windows 7, then use the Recovery Disk to recover the drivers, am I right?

Hello iUnique,

You should be able to download the Windows 7 drivers for that laptop model directly from the HP link below.

Select your operating system HP Pavilion dv3-2111tx Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Be sure to also make your Vista recovery disks so you have a path back if you want to sell the computer, or restore to factory condition for any other reason (including sometimes to service the Hardware warranty).

You can also extract favorite apps which are not on the HP webpage for your model using this:

Custom v Clean Install
As people begin receiving their copies of Win 7 upgrade, there seems to be a problem doing a clean install. My question, what is the downside of doing a custom install, with a upgrade disc and the resulting windows.old, rather than a clean install, on a formatted drive?
