Acer Aspire M3203 and Acer's Windows 7 upgrade software

My system is roughly 5 months old. I had used the upgrade software that Acer provided to upgrade from Vista to 7 home premium. There was no issues with the install and everything worked great for a month and then it started going in to deep hibernation. The only way to wake it was to unplug the power from the tower. I did everything I could think of from editing the registry to updating drivers, to finally reinstalling everything. No go so I packed it up and sent it back to Acer. I just got it back from Acer's repair depot. They had to replace the motherboard, hard drive, and fans on the system. They performed a factory restore and told me that I was good to go and updating shouldn't be an issue. I went to use the upgrade dvd's from Acer and low and behold, the hibernation thing started again! It took me four attempts to restore it back to factory. Now it seems stable running Vista. I am in the process up updating the drivers and windows stuff so time will tell. Is it me or is Acer systems flakey?

Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can go about updating to Windows 7 without having to format every week? I have tried doing clean installs without going the upgrade path and it still behaves badly. Sometimes it won't even turn on. Or is it just possible that the pc I purchased just can't handle Windows 7?

Are you booting the Acer Win7 Upgrade Media DVD to do a clean install? You can do that to get the cleanest possible install, without the corruption that is imported from Vista in an in-place Upgrade.

The installer is driver-complete, but afterwards any missing drivers which don't quickly arrive in Optional Windows Updates can be found on the apps/drivers CD along with favorite apps like Works, cam, etc. Others can be found on the Acer Support Downloads webpage for your model computer, Adobe (flash, Reader) and Java (runtime, free Ofc suite) sites.
