Windows 7: validation

Although I have a validated , activated and registered windows 7 system . I an unable
to download a windows media player ( WMP) I have downloaded Office 2010 and Microsoft sent me welcoming E-mails but validation

on WMP always fails.
Has anyone any ideas?

I am not sure what you mean by download a WMP. If you start your current WMP and hit CTRL+M or hit the ALT key, select help and check for updates...

If this is not what you mean, please explain further.

Thanks Saltgrass,
This is an installation of windows 7 professional N which doesn't come with a media player pre-installed.
Hence the problem of trying to get a windows version (11 or 12) WMP on my machine.

That hit the spot. The package also contained other worthwhile goodies besides the WMP.
