Being that it is not a direct method means that you fudged it. Microsoft says that these systems are not supported on FAT32. As an example, see kb927520 as one example where it says you can't install on FAT32.
So, although you made it work, doesn't mean that if it breaks you have support.
Also, reread my post, I was not totally sure, and was not absolute in my answer.
