Trouble Installing Windows 7

I built a new computer just last week and I installed windows XP on it without any trouble. Then I tried to install windows 7 professional x64 and every time i do it, I get one of two Blue error screens. If it cuts off before the instal can even begin, it says

A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage
to your computer

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer
for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware
or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as chaching or shadowing.
If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then
Select Safe Mode.

But sometimes it makes it into the install portion and cuts out halfway through and gives the same message with the error code as.

I have tried installing all of my motherboard drivers and finding updates online but nothing seems to be resolving this issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

my setup:
MOBO - Biostar TA790GXE 128M
Processor - AMD Athalon 2 quad core 2.6ghz
Raidmax 530W power supply
seagate barricuda 750GB hard drive
2x2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram

Are you booting the installer or running from 64 bit XP? Try both.

Try removing all but 2gb of RAM and retry. Then switch sticks. Test your RAM.

I took out one of the sticks and attempted to boot again. It is giving me the same error codes as before. I even tried switching it out with the memory from a computer that I have had for a while to see if one of those sticks would work to the same result.

I am booting the installer.

If you also have 64 bit XP, can you try running installer from there?

To eliminate DVD or OD as cause, can you try booting from USB flash stick installer: USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create or Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

Check your cable connections and BIOS settings closely, one by one. Are you setting SATA controller to AHCI to start, then IDE if necessary, to try Win7 install? XP may not be agreeable to this but try it anyway.

Did you initialize if a new HD, or test your HD using Seatools full CD scan: http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.js...00dd04090aRCRD

Can you remove the video card to default to onboard graphics, or change out the vid card?

Did you format using XP, as it has a slightly different partition table. Delete the partition and use Win7 installer to format if you get there. I would personally save an image of XP using free Macrium Reflect, then use Seatools to zero the HD to try a clean slate install.

I tried running the installer throught XP and XP really is not liking it. It freezes or blue screens every time. Now I have started getting blue screened while in XP, so I am starting to think it is more along the lines of a hardware issue. I will run down the BIOS for a while again, but I have checked them multiple times before.
