What windows email client are you using.

If MS OUTLOOK it's easy -- download program pfbackup.exe from the Office update / download site and save your folders to any area on a disk / usb device etc. You can also save account settings (i think these are .iaf files).

Re-import these back into W7 after re-installing MS office.

Windows 7 doesn't have an email client so you'll need to set something up before you upgrade.

As for passwords for other apps I don't know.
I think with IE explorer you can save "Favourites" (Bookmarks in Firefox) to a directory. Firefox can import stuff from IE.

Some people have managed to make Vista email work on W7 but I'd get a proper email client. If you use Office Outlook isn't too horrible.

I don't myself like "Webmail" type of stuff -- slowish, bloated with adware and usually not very good at handling attachments and in general organising stuff when you have multiple accoubts / office Exchgange servers etc.

Load the email client BEFORE upgrading to W7 so that email client can save your folders etc etc from your VISTA system.

For XP users it's really simple with OUTLOOK EXPRESS as you can change the "Data store" to say "D:\msgs" on another partition and then import OE messages into Outlook directly on W7.

    Cheers
