i need help i made upgrade from windows 7 Home Premium to Professional i need now to back to my home premium note that i have the original key when i put inside the windows any time upgrade he told me you cant in this edition please help.

because in the professional i lost the key but with home premium i have & now he asked about the key & i brought the key from inside the pc but didn't work i don't know why so i wanna back to my home premium
Did you buy a Windows 7 Professional retail or was it pre-installed on another computer? Do you still have the packaging, or is it still installed on another machine?
If you have proof of purchase of the Win7 Professional and any of its packaging, MS may be able to help you retrieve the key by calling their Customer Service number.
If this is not possible, there is a way to roll back the Professional install to Home Premium by following steps I can give you but the steps must be followed exactly or it will not succeed. If you wish will give you the steps to do this after you answer the above questions.
