Be sure to Install Microsoft Security Essentials now. It is easy to install and becomes nearly invisible so you dont' have to even think about it. Just be sure it is running so no bad guys will get in.
First uninstall any other anti-virus in Control Panel>Programs and Features since it obviously wasn't working for you, and is likely a bloated paid AV program.
It is actually the same for all Windows7. For a repair disk you go to the left pane of Control Panel\System and Security\Backup and Restore and click on " Create a System Repair Disk". But for an installation disk creation you are being prompted by Win7. And that you can only make once.
I would also like to add after installing MSE for protection. Go to the start orb click it and type in the search box create system restore point>click on it and a window will pop up>select the C drive>then click on create> another wiondow will pop up in that window I usualy write the date and hour, sometimes the program I'm about to install. This way if you don't like the program or you have a problem you can restore your system rather quickly to where it was befroe you installed anything else. Fabe
That would be a Repair CD, a very good idea but somewhat different than the factory Recovery Disks which must be generated by a Toshiba app, probably buried somewhere in All Programs.
The Repair CD is used when Win7 refuses to boot. It's functions are well explained here: Repair CD - System Repair Disk
Since Windows 7 includes built-in Backup Imaging, you can make your own Recovery Image of the HD when you have it set up just as you want it - saving the image file to an external drive, then reimaging the HD (or a replacement) if necessary by booting the Repair CD to select "Recover Using a System Image."
