Every time you run the installer, it creates a new entry. Boot from the USB drive, and press Shift+10 when you get to the language screen. Then run the following:

bootrec /rebuildbcd

Now, you really need to get an official copy of Windows. Call Microsoft, and they should sell you a disc for a low price.

Do you have a product key already? If not, you should buy a disc from Newegg or some other retailer.

Those boot options should be removed permanently. If not, we can manually remove them later, using msconfig in Windows.

Linux might be part of the problem, but it's hard for me to go on now. Torrented copies of Windows are notorious for issues such as this. Even thought it worked on the desktop, it might not work on the laptop.

Go here and buy a real copy, unless you already have purchased a legitimate product key: Windows 7: Get ready to buy Windows 7 for your own PC or a new one

Type msconfig into the start menu, and press enter. In the Boot tab, select the entries you want to delete, and click on Delete.

Great, glad to hear it. Are you saying creating the USB installation key using method 2 worked?

As a fairly experience Linux user I doubt that is the problem, but hey you never know. Original poster get a legitimate copy of Windows 7, installing a torrent download is not a good idea ever, even if you have a legit key.
