    hi i have a question


    i tried to upgrade from windows vista to 7. it said that i have to deauthorize itunes. My question is this: although i have itunes, i dont have an itunes account so do i still have to deauthorize? and will i lose my songs if i don't?

    Welcome to SF!

    If I were you, I would backup your music library to anywhere is the My Music folder, in your user folder. That way, even if iTunes doesn't work after the upgrade, you will still have your mp3 files.

    If you have never authorized iTunes on your computer, you do not need to "deauthorize " it.
    If you did and forget, you can authorize up to 5 computers. Then you can deauthorize them all and start again.
