Windows 7 Home Premium ->Windows 7 Ultimate

I have a computer with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it.

I recently bought a Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade DVD.
(The store did not have the Anytime Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade)

I have not opened the package yet, but I noticed the package stated, "This version of Windows 7 is designed as an upgrade for Windows Vista".

Can I use the Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade DVD to upgrade my Windows 7 Home Premium PC?

Hello Rzetlin,

Yes, you can do a inplace upgrade install from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate.

You can also do a clean install with a Windows 7 upgrade copy if you like since it is a retail copy.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Windows Vista™ Ultimate cannot be upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium.
I received this message: Windows Vista™ Ultimate cannot be upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium. You can choose to install a new copy of Windows 7 Home Premium instead, but this is different from an upgrade, and does not keep your files, settings, and programs. You’ll need to reinstall any programs...
