it loads into the System Recovery Options
    Startup Repair
    System Restore
    .
    .
    .
    Command Prompt

There is no difference (apart from it now being safe) to booting into this normally,as far as I can tell...

    Try this:

    Startup Repair
Note: You may need to do startup repair 3 to 4 times.

    Hi

What the heck is it with windows 7 ?

First I had problems to find the drivers for my soundcard ( Creative soundblaster live 5.1)

and now it seems like windows 7 have its own life....

    yesterday everything was fine:

I had my bookmarks in firefox (Maybe over 200 different bookmarks that was pretty important)
I had save files for my games
I had my own background picture for the desktop.
I had a couple of files on the desktop that I had saved

Today when I started the computer it was not fine:

I had lost my bookmarks in firefox
I had lost my save files for my games
I didnt had my own background picture on my desktop
The files that I had on the desktop was gone

It seemed to be stable in the beginning but now its all crappy shit in my opinion...

Its like windows had done its own system recovery without me telling to do it..

Anyone else that are angry at Bill Gates and Windows 7 ????????????????

Now I am going back to windows XP and I am NOT coming back to windows 7 until I am 1000000% sure that it wont happen again.....

Win 7 is a new OS. It is nothing like XP. Old drivers, old hardware and old software will not run well on it. Before you try Win 7 again make sure your system is up to date and ready for Win 7. Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows

Try IE8 which has finally been perfected with Win7. It is rock-solid stable without a single issue in over 100+ installs here. I like the features better, especially how you can sort History to quickly get back to any page or site.

When I install Firefox or Chrome to compare them, I end up taking them off within days as their features cannot compare and seem amateurish. It is a constant sruggle with add-ons, which have never been an issue once with IE8.

    CarlTR6..

if it was me you answered I have had windows 7 installed a couple of months now and it started to give problems yesterday the saved files on the desktop should have been there even if it is problems with drivers to work properly.

Is it anyone that can explain the problem that I got why my stuff has disappeared ?
it shouldnt ruin the stuff for the users and not do automatically rollbacks or system recovery without the user letting it do it .

I have turned off the security thing now so lets see if it will happen again..
in my opinion it shouldnt be any option like that when it can ruin stuff ..
I am giving it 1 more chance..

If you have a problem you should start your own thread and not hijack someone else's
