resize hard

Guys, I allready have try with partition wizard but then it's missing some files and I can't run windows 7 ! When I first install it there was C drive with 470Gb and Recocvery D disk with 12Gb and third partition of 199Mb ?!?!
I allready did in disk managment to split but it won't let me resize it to 50Gb wich should be enough for windows seven. Am I doing something wrong with partition wizard?! I seen video clips . I have Pavilion DV6 and when I install windows it doesn't ask me where or how much should partition be. Why?! So, practicly I can't do anything?!?! How to resize it ..any advise?

If you are reinstalling with HP recovery this will make fixed partitions.

If you're using Recovery to reinstall then you'll need to wait until Win 7 is installed, then in Disk Management shrink the volume to the size you want: Partition or Volume - Shrink

Use free Partition Wizard bootable CD.

It has never failed in 100+ resizing operations we've helped with here.

But always back up your files just in case.
