    Boot to CD/DVD

    Hello everyone,

I am having trouble getting my Windows 7 disc to boot. I have made sure that my boot priorities are in order, and in fact my Windows Vista disc prompts me for a key stroke to continue a fresh install. For some reason it is just my Windows 7 disc that doesnt want to boot. Any suggestions? I know that a bootable disc will have an "autorun" and "bootmgr" file accompanied with the setup files. Could it just have been a bad burn? Perhaps it is missing a file to make it autorun? It wasnt burnt from an ISO image. I simply copy/pasted the setup files into my D drive and burned the CD.
Also, once Windows is running, I can insert the Windows 7 disc and it will autorun and prompt me to begin installing.

At this point, my only option is to install Vista and than upgrade.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks

You cannot boot a DVD which only has the files copied over. It must have the ISO image burned correctly using a burner like ImgBurn at slow (4x) speed with Verify -it never fails.

    Use this: BootIsoMakerV2.zip

Assuming you have the 7 installation files on your HD , if not, copy and paste them from the dvd that isn't booting onto your HD.

Rt click and run as admin on bootisomaker.cmd.

Browse to the boot.wim in the 7 installation files "sources" folder. When asked, Select 7 bootsector.

    It will do the rest.
