    upgrade from vista x64

    Hey guys and gals...
i am about to upgrade my system this summer to match my entire network - all running 7.

my main system is a 64bit machine... currently running vista home premium x64 on its own hard drive..

i want to upgrade to win 7 professional...

my ? - how stable are the x64 windows 7 drivers?? are they stable and is most stuff supported by now.. or should i go windows 32bit on my 64bit machine..

    thanks guys and gals.

Go with the X64 version, it's excellent. I've had no hardware problems other than not being able to use my scanner because there is no Vista or Win 7 driver for it. Since you are already running Vista X64, the move to Win 7 X64 should be relatively painless.

As long as your hardware has 64-bit driver support, it's very stable. And since you already run 64-bit...your hardware must have driver support.

by the way....to make it less painless... even though it takes longer to put all the pieces back together... do a clean install instead of upgrade.

Acurasd: i i was think the same thing, plus i am getting a bigger hard drive for C:/ i had an 80gig for vista - and with all the updates/ virus protection/ i almost ran out of space... so i am getting a 250 just for 7 to sit on..

when i install i will disconnect with other 2 hard drives - just so i know i wont accidently touch those with the install process.
