    Windows 7 Formats?

Hi. I was wondering if I upgrade to Windows 7 will I loose my Microsoft office suite? Do I have to buy it over once it's gone? I don't think I still have the activation code.

If you do an upgrade (not the best way to install 7) you will still have all of your programs. If you do a clean install (the best way) all programs have to be reinstalled. You can get the activation code with the free software that is listed below.

You still need the install DVD.

So, say I do a clean install and I no longer have my activation codes. Will I just loose my office suite? Or is there a way to transfer it to an external hard drive?

With a clean install, you will need the DVD and key. You can get the lost key. See my above post.

Almost all members recommend a clean install

You can down load a free program called Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder that will tell you the keys of installed programs.

I would use two of the keyfinder programs, including Belarc Advisor, to make sure you are getting the exact Office Product Key.

Then locate an install CD for your version, install using your Product Key.
