Please help upgrading my xp to windows 7

    Aero will default to off in low-graphics installs.

    Make sure you check optional Windows Updates for newer drivers than what is provided by installer.

    Any drivers missing in Device Manager can then be found on the manufacturer's SUpport Downloads webpage for your model computer.

    Check for a new BIOS version update there, too. You can find your BIOS version by typing System Information in the Start search box or run the Belarc Advisor which can also audit all of your software Product Keys.

    do I check for windows updates for new drivers after the new install of windows 7 or before?

    You will want to do this after installing Windows 7, though most of the drivers should be installed automatically upon installation....

    Thanks! you guys are the best! Nice to know there is still people out there willing to help others without anything in return! I'm waiting on my 2gb of memory to be delivered after that i will install and report back with how it went! Thanks again everyone!
