    Installing W7 RC1 onto a netbook...

Hi all, i'm in the process of downloading RC1 as we speak.

I'm going to install it on my main build, obviously but I was thinking of installing ot on my partner's samsung netbook.

I don't really want to buy a usb Optical drive, so I'd like to ask how would I go about doing this, and also has anybody installed 7 on an atom 270 device already and would they recoment it?

Also how easy is the wifi capability within 7 to use to detect hotspots etc?

In the xp home edition she has installed it still has clunky workarounds for bringing up the control panel et al.

    thanks in advance.

Ha, just wait. You're going to love Se7en.

USB boots can be a very tricky affair. Can't speak to the Atom question though.

There are guides over on the EeePC user forums on installing from USB stick.
Ive not gone in to Windows 7 as i dont have the space on my EeePC901 but there are people using W7 on these Atom based netbooks and the reports look very promising.

Windows 7 runs great on the atom 280. As flipflip metnioned there are various people running seven and happy with it on the 270.
