    Try this:
    Safe Mode

    Startup Repair
Note: You may need to do startup repair 3 to 4 times.

    System Repair Disc - Create
    System Recovery Options
    Repair Install

Boot WIn7 DVD Repair console or Repair CD to run Startup Repair.

If the above doesn't solve the problem then boot into Repair again, but after selecting the Win7-installation, press "Load Drivers" (Instead of "Next") and use the mini Windows Explorer to right-click the boot-drive, select Properties, deselect "Compress this Drive" and choose Apply to sub-folders and files.

What do you mean by "the computer is dead?"

Is there a signal to the monitor? Any error messages or output at all?

    Is the fan spinning inside?

The error is because the OS won't start up since the boot drive has been compressed. I gave you the fix earlier. Theog provides a screenshot showing where the checkbox needs to be changed after browsing to it from the booted Win7 DVD REpair console or Repair CD.

If worse comes to worst you can always reinstall the OS with an installer of your version, or Recovery Disks.

We won't quit if you don't.
