    Windows 7 Setup needs


    Hi, i think Windows should have to accept diversity, i think Windows Setup should ask if the user wishes to Install Internet Explorer and Madiaplayer or the user wishes to install other after setup (ex Firefox, Winamp or other), and at the and it should ask if user wishes to install windows bootloader or leave as it is ex (grub or lilo or other), you here me Microsoft, you are supporting diversity in the real life, why not in the computer too, you are not the onlyone in thease world, look at Mandriva 2009 Spring, looks like win7 no? and its Linux, Linux is not the enemy Microsoft.

    I would agree with you on that, but for now youd have to install as normal but you can uninstall those items you mentioned at any time afterwards.

    Go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and then turn windows features on or off in the side panel.

    Hello batti5 welcome to the forums,

    Microsoft won't ever give the option to install 3rd party software as standard. Do linux offer the chance to install Internet Explorer? Or Mandriva 2009 Spring the option to install Media Player?

    There is an option under Control Panel->Programs->Turn Windows features on or off to remove Internet Explorer, Media Player & Others. This option does not completely uninstall them but it does hide all files so you don't have access to them.
