    No internet now

Just did a clean install of Window 7 Pro on an HP dc7700, got the direvers fixed then did and update of windows. After doing the updates, Internet Explorere 8 no longer works. Can still connect to our server, but no outisde connectivity. Read somewhere this was a problem, but saw no fixes. Any suggestions?

    thanks,

Run the network troubleshooter by rightclicking connection icon in systray.

What do you mean by "got the drivers fixed?" Did you swap out drivers given by installer? Are your ethernet or wireless driver up to ddate and enabled?

i have done a system restore back to the point of doing windows updates, so IE8 is working now, but if even do just Office updates, IE8 no longer works. when i look at the network and sharing center, I see my connection to our server, but no internet connection.

Set a system restore before each of the suspect updates, doing them one by one.

When you hit the update that disables your internet, SysRestore before it, mark it down and get free Windows Update tech support to troubleshoot the installation of the update.

This support is via email so not in real time, but eventually they will see you through to a solution as they have done for me on issues small and large. You are also helping thousands of others who may experience this at the same time.

Stupid suggestion: Try another browser and see if it's M$ specific.

Just tried Firefox, same problem. Am going to start with a clean install and watch what 3rd party apps I install and see if one of them has problems with Windows 7. Thanks for the response.
