Windows 7 wont boot - black screen, white blinking border

    Hello!

I tried Linux yesterday, and wrote over my previous Windows bootloader files with GRUB.

I later that day (as I could not boot into Windows 7), I deleted the Linux partitions with Windows 7 DVD.

Now, after BIOS I just get a white blinking border on a black screen.

    I tried

    bootrec /fixmbr
    Success
    bootrec /fixboot
    Success
    bootrec /rebuildbdc
    Success
    bootrec /scanos (Total identified Windows-installs: 0)

I also tried the "automatic" systemrepair (1st choice in the DVD menu, with no luck)

    Can someone please help me?

try also restart your bios.. take out your battery bios and put it back. then will reset your bios setting. setting the date/time and see how is going.

    Thank you for your replay.

I re-set the battery, and my screen is no longer black with a white border, however it now shows:

    BOOTMGR is missing
    Press any key to restart

if i'm not wrong, when you formatted, that's look some setting on it. try this step.
disable AHCI mode for your disk controller in the system BIOS. Typically the controller has to be changed from AHCI mode to "IDE" or "ATA" mode.

and after that try installing from USB USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create

I have done that THOUSANDS of times with no luck.

By the way, the "Missing BOOTMGR" went away, and the black screen with the white boarder returned.

Check your first boot in bios .. is it set to the drive you have windows on?... do you have any cd's in the cd drive? do you have any external drives plugged in ?can you boot in safe mode?can you get last best known config. that worked when pressing F8 ? can you boot from disk to do a repair ?........ check all the above ...one will sort the problem.

    1st boot = Windows drive
    No CD in drive
    No external drives plugged in
    No safe mode
    No last know best config
    Can't press F8
I can boot from Windows 7 CD - tried both auto and manual repair

As I said; the screen is entirely black, except a white borderline flashing in the top of the left corner.
