    acpi compliant

    Tried to install windows 7 on my pc. Recieved a message that it was non acpi compliant. I have a brand new ta790gxe biostar board, with an amd athalon cpu.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Make sure ACPI is enabled in BIOS and that you have the latest BIOS version update.

    If that fails, try reseating RAM. Test your RAM using memtest86 CD for 5-6 passes.

    You may need to download your sata controller drivers from here. (F6_WIN7.exe)
    BIOSTAR :: TA790GXE 128M :: Driver

    SATA Driver - Load in Windows 7 or Vista Setup

    well your both wrong. windows xp had not recognized the new board. a reinstall of XP recognized the board, and then an upgade to win 7 went flawlessly.

    checking the RAM has nothing to do whatsoever with ACPI compliance. please do not clog up these forums if you don't know what your talking about.

    Q) I have a new MOBO & Win XP installed on the HD from a old PC, what should I do?

    A) Do a Repair install of Win XP.

    False info gets the wroug info back.

    The ACPI error can be false-positively generated by memory fails.

    We recommend testing, reseating or restricting to 2gb RAM on nearly every install failure because when we don't, it often turns out to be memory-related after days of struggle.
