Directx

I am trying to install directx which is needed to play a game. once it is finalizing i recieve this message.
Does anyone know what to do?

For the record, when posting files/pictures.. you can click the paperclip in the reply box (up where the smilies are) and add the files to the post directly rather then an external site.

Does the install still error out if you don't have Ventrilo or anything else that uses audio or DirectX files running?

Yes i still get the error after closing these programs.

Next question, are you using the web install or the full redistributable?

Well when i was downloading a game i was promt to download directx as the game would not work without directx installed.

Edit: I am currently trying to download directx from the microsoft website. Maybe that will make a difference.
