Can't install Windows 7 - Error 0x80070057 Hi,
In doing a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit), an error appears when it gets to "Expanding Windows Files". Error 0x80070057. Had a look to see if any others had the same problem and many did. I've tried what others have suggested including wiping the hard drive etc etc. Now the strange thing is I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) (same as the one above) already, on the same laptop, with the same hard drive and everything and it installed without a problem!!!
Can someone help me or atleast explain to me why it won't install now even after being installed before?
Thanks! | My System Specs |

I'm in the process of trying the install with one of the two memory cards out... Not sure if that will make a difference? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sahara LE1N OS Windows 7 Ultimate X86 CPU Mobile Intel Celeron M 380, 1600 MHz (16 x 100) Motherboard SiS M661MX Memory 1472 MB (DDR SDRAM) Graphics Card SiS 330 Mirage IGP Sound Card Realtek ALC203 @ SiS 7012 Audio Device Screen Resolution 1024 X 768 Keyboard Laptop Mouse ISAT 3D 1000DPI Case Plastic ;) Hard Drives HTS421240H9AT00 ATA Device (40 GB, 4200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/100) Internet Speed 4Mb/sec |

But when I installed Windows 7 the first time it worked with two cards in (1256mb total). Is 256mb too little? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sahara LE1N OS Windows 7 Ultimate X86 CPU Mobile Intel Celeron M 380, 1600 MHz (16 x 100) Motherboard SiS M661MX Memory 1472 MB (DDR SDRAM) Graphics Card SiS 330 Mirage IGP Sound Card Realtek ALC203 @ SiS 7012 Audio Device Screen Resolution 1024 X 768 Keyboard Laptop Mouse ISAT 3D 1000DPI Case Plastic ;) Hard Drives HTS421240H9AT00 ATA Device (40 GB, 4200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/100) Internet Speed 4Mb/sec |
